More Blake for the Buck!
The St. Louis Blues made a big splash in the trade market yesterday by nabbing big bad (possible) future hall of famer Rob Blake along with Boyd Devereaux from their division rivals, the Columbus Blue Jackets. The deal also included a 4th round draft pick for next season. The deal was not cheap however as the Blues dealt away defender Ole Kristian Tolefsson, prosepect Alex Bourret and this year's second round pick. Blues' GM Gavin Gear though, immediately sat down with Blake has his respresentatives and hammered out an extention. "Getting an extension done was paramount in this deal", Gear said "I could not give up so much of the future for just a couple months, but bringing Rob in and signing him through next season ensures that we will have a legitimate shot at the playoffs for this year and moving forward into next year."
